Susan Sarandon Bio
It was shortly following the 1968 Democratic convention when there was an audition to a film that featured several roles for youth who had disrupted convention. Joe (1970), was sought out by Joe (1970) and Joe (1970) Two recently graduated Catholic University students. Chris Sarandon, an actor who had studied, was rejected. Susan, his wife Susan was given a prominent part in the film as Susan Compton and is the child of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). In the movie Dad Bill kills Susan's drug dealer friend and then befriends Joe (Peter Boyle)-- an obnoxious worker in an assembly line and who is a collector of guns.Five years after, Sarandon made the film that fans of the cult classics are familiar with her as Janet who becomes involved with transvestite Dr. Frank n Furter in The The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). After more than 15 years of beginning her career Sarandon was finally active in a campaign for a role that was a hit, Annie in Bull Durham (1988), flying at her own expense Rome to Los Angeles. "It was a great script ... and removed numerous myths and changed the American definition of success" said Sarandon. "When I arrived I had a chat with Kevin Costner, kissed some in the studio, and then returned to the plane". Her relationship with Bull Durham (1988)) acting partner, Tim Robbins, had given birth to two sons in 1992, and placed Sarandon in the position of having to leave her idyllic home and taking on roles that truly challenged her. There were four Academy Award nominations were received in the 1990s. The award for the best actress for Dead Man Walking (1995) was also presented. Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980) was her first Academy Award nomination.
